Project Description

Dredging works: Dredging works mainly consist of dredging of channel, turning basin and berth pocket. The berth pocket located at the jetty apron is 65m in width and designed water design is -15.5m. The turning basin is in oval-shape with major axis of 580m, minor axis of 430m and designed water depth of -12.5m

The natural water is rather shallow from Port Qasim wharves to the proposed power plant. A new channel has been constructed which is about 4.0 km in length, 150m in designed width and -12.5m in designed bottom elevation. The quantity of dredged materials was around 5.30 million m3, from which, 1.00 million m3 has been used for reclamation of the power plant. And the remaining 4.30 million m3 has been disposed off to the two disposal areas duly approved by PQA .
