Project Description
The teaching hospital complex was conceived in the sixties as the prime hospital complex in the newly built capital of Pakistan and Rawalpindi city, with the assistance of WHO experts’ studies and help, a master plan was prepared. The proposed complex was for 586 bed teaching hospital along with residential facilities provided for 50% of all categories staff. The hospital complex has the following facilities.

OPD Block, which has diagnostic plus filter clinics, facilities such as ECG, ETT, Endoscopy, ENT, Gynae etc.

Emergency block which comprises of all emergency facilities like day surgery Treatment, Plaster rooms, Detention room, ECG etc.

Services block comprises of all Utilities from Kitchen to Laundry and waste disposal system, mechanical shops, boilers, HVAC system etc.

X-ray / Ultra Sound Department (Radiology)

Laboratory Block comprises of laboratories from Hematology, Biochemistry, Serology, Micro Biology, Histopathology, Blood Bank etc.

OR Block, having 6 operation theatres, with all standard facilities, from Surgical / Medical surgery treatment

Cardiac block comprises of all cardiac rotated treatment facilities.

Children / Gynecology Block, are comprised of post / delivery room, labour room, operation theatres, Nursery, baby feed room etc, also have the paediatric ward, incubators warmer, phototherapy, Isolation wards etc. also have the Dialysis ward.
